KRUKje
A stool is a seat without any support for the back and arms that enables you to (you guessed it) take a seat.
Unfortunately this description does not take in account the proces, energy and effort that went into creating theactual object and enabled you to take this action.
KRUKje is an exercise in making. By showing the simple process of construction and assembling it yourself, thisstool tries to give users an experience of what it takes to make everyday actions effortless.
This stool is made from cardboard, weighs less than a kilogram, is able to carry a person and is for sale toexperience it yourself.
Beautiful Electronics
Beautiful Electronics is a photo series about the beauty hidden away from view, living inside electrical home appliances. The Project questions everyday esthetics and gives a different view to the technology that makes everyday tasks frictionless.
Act of Opening:
The Act of Opening is derived from the question whether we could make better use of the volume of an interiordoor?
An element in our interior that is often overlooked. there is a lot of space hidden in a door, both in physical andimagination. This is space that we often cannot use. The act of opening tries to visualize the potential of an interior door and proposes a new perspective onmultifunctional use of volumes.
The project focuses on private homes. With the designs, the user has the possibility to transform a door into a piece of furniture, allowing the space to accommodate multiple functions.
The Act of Opening is about opening a new perspective on the potential of the door, in terms of functionality, materialand context.
Chair Extensions
It can be said that there exist more chairs on earth, then there are people. This idea raises thequestion why we still produce new chairs until this day. Chair Extensions is a project that researches the idea of giving chairs a second life by using small add-ons. These add-ons give the chair new motives to be used again in different environments.
Shown here with the mass-produced result chair from Ahrend designed by Friso Kramer, the add-ons give a verydifferent feel and functionality to the original design.
